In Class Writing 8/29

Jim Daly, “Andrew Luck’s retirement decision has a hidden message (even for non-athletes),” Fox News, https://www.foxnews.com/opinion/andrew-luck-retirement-decision-jim-daly

Fact: In the article, Daly writes, “but this past weekend he finally decided that enough was enough” (Daly 1). This is indeed a fact because Andrew Luck did, in fact, decide that enough was enough; he showed this by retiring.

Opinion: In the article, Daly explains, “Troy Aikman is exactly right. Today’s public square is filled with outspoken, antagonistic agitators who are quick to criticize others – often people whom they know little or nothing about” (Daly 1). This is an opinion because not every one feels this way.

Claim: In the article, Daly explain, ” It’s hard for the average working American to fathom walking away from that amount of cash” (Daly 1). This is a claim because not everyone would walk away from that amount of cash.
